Jessica Secor, a Tennessee-bound senior at DuPont Manual High in Kentucky, took third in the championship girls mile by lowering her own Kentucky state record to 4:40.98 at New Balance Nationals Outdoor at Franklin Field in Philadelphia. Secor had improved on the record June 14 by running 4:42.17 at the Brooks PR Invitational in Washington after clocking 4:44.73 on May 5 at the Kentucky Dream Mile.
